Two Miutes Ice Cream

Before the summer is over I thought I’d share a delicious snack we’ve been making lately.
Before we started the Detox I bought the Ninja blender to prepare our morning smoothies.
Of course, since then I have used it for many recipes like tahini, hummus and granola bars but just about a month ago, days before my mom arrived in Arizona, we started to prepare homemade ice cream.

The summer in Phoenix Arizona is not over yet (Come on we’re already at the end of November  K ), and every evening we enjoy a cold, tasty snack.
I do not like to buy sweet snacks, I prefer to prep  are them myself-homemade-, so I am able to control the amount of sugar and fat. Therefore, buying ice cream as a tasty snack to chill out is really not an option as is buying a big expensive ice cream machine.

Serves: 1 Cooking Time: 2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Greek yogurt (170-200 ml)
  • 1 cup of frozen fruit: banana / cherries / mango / pineapple / berries and basically any other fruit you like. The cherries and the pineapple are my favorite here.
  • Teaspoon of vanilla extract1
  • 4 tablespoons of milk (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of agave real maple syrup

Instructions

1

If the fruits are fresh they should be frozen the night before.

2

Put the fruit, the yogurt, and the vanilla extract in a blender and grind. There are fruits, like mango, for example, that need a little liquid to make the grinding easier, so in that case add some milk.

3

People who have a sweet tooth like me may add some (about a teaspoon should be enough) maple or agave- and grind till you get a smooth, creamy texture like an ice cream.

4

And so, ladies and gentlemen we have homemade ice cream- healthy, sugar and fat free.

Notes

It is best to prepare just before serving.
